Sir Neville Marriner and the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields

The Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields was formed in 1959 by a group of outstanding London musicians to perform 17th and 18th century music.  Is is now one of the most famous ensembles in the world and has made over 300 recordings, including the complete Mozart Piano Concertos under Sir Neville Marriner, with Alfred Brendel as soloist.

Sir Neville Marriner is probably the best known interpreter of 17th and 18th Century music and is noted for his long association with the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields.

"With a rare intelligence of interpretation and musical expression."
